“In order to pay due homage to our revered ancestors; to express appreciation for the fine heritage with which they have endowed us; to perpetuate for posterity by means of suitable memorials, with the memory of their lives of character, and to create a bond of fellowship and friendship among those who have descended through the Rivard lineage; the Descendants of Thomas Rivard and Jehanne Chevreau through their grandsons, Nicolas Rivard, dit Lavigne and Robert Rivard, dit Loranger, created this organization and adopted a constitution for the government of this organization.”
